Field Support Engineer

Our client, a growing and dynamic IT company based in Sheffield. Is currently looking for a Field Support Engineer, the successful applicant can expect to receive a fantastic package.
The role itself is a very customer focused role, the successful applicant must be able to manage and coordinate new server installations, liaising directly with the customers. There will be opportunities to develop the role to a team leadership’s position in time. The role is split between the office and off site, looking at 60% off site 40% in the office, time in the office will be utilised on remote helpdesk work and preparation for pending site installations upgrades. The majority of our clients customer base are running sbs2003 servers or windows 2003 standard with exchange, ideally you will have strong knowledge with exchange, ideally you will have strong knowledge with exchange and comfortable with active directory and group policies.
The successful candidates will confident in the field ideally with break fix experience, you must be customer focused with excellent communication skills, highlighted by your ability to interact at all levels. You must also be well presented and articulate.
Key Skills and Requirements
Must be MCP qualified
The successful candidate will have server and network skills. You will be expected to be able to install servers/networks with minimal assistance
Knowledgeable enough to assist installations carried out by other staff
Strong working knowledge of windows 2000 server sbs standard and windows 2003 server sbs and standard
Exchange, all versions
Symantec/veritas backup exec
Terminal services, server installation and client configuration
Ads1/Sds1 router/firewall configuration including vpn
